TAYSAN PROJECT |
Recently completed drilling by Chase Minerals Philippines Corporation at the Taysan porphyry copper deposit has confirmed the extension of a higher grade, near surface mineralized zone to the west and south-west of the proven reserve block. In 1992 the Taysan orebody contained an estimated proven and probable reserve of 336 million tonnes grading 0.31% copper and 0.31g/t gold, with additional drill indicated reserves of over 200 million tonnes. The recently completed drilling indicates an overall increase in total reserves and similar average grades, with a reduced stripping ratio. In June 1995 McPhar completed an extension of the IP and Resistivity Survey in the northern part of the grid. The IP data is presented below as a plan map of the N=3 separation together with a profile of Line 19500N. This line of data has already been presented as a separate case history (previously called Line 14S). The Taysan orebody is shown to sit on the southern flank of a moderate amplitude PFE anomaly. A Ground Magnetic Survey was also carried out over the property by McPhar, and showed a magnetic low coincident with the orebody. |
